An (aporia) is the detection of a limit of rational language…. We believe that in architecture not everything can be rationally explained or measured…. therefore it is from the limit of aporia that we stop to travel what we believe is beyond the rational.
The acknowledgment of the limit is not a barrier to stop before, but the invitation to experience its crossing.
The term refers to the reasoning in which irresolvable contradictions or paradoxes arise; in such cases the aporias appear as logical difficulties.
Many speculations that at the time were considered aporias, that is, unsolvable paradoxes have later been resolved thanks to paradigm shifts.
